Airtel VoWIFI – Everything you should know

What is VoWIFI?

You all may be aware of the feature of the 4g VoLTE, but now comes the new feature named as Voice over WiFi, as the name tell’s that it will carry the normal Voice calls over our regular WiFi network. WiFi network can be any network either, it could be a public WiFi, a WiFi Hotspot or a normal in home WiFi network.

Airtel(IN) VoWIFI – Now Available across Delhi NCR

Airtel(IN) on 9th December 2019 Officially announced its VoWIFI services across Delhi-NCR, and said it would be soon expanded to other regions. At the beginning the service is only accessible via Airtel X-stream Fiber earlier known as Airtel V Fiber.

Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai & Kolkata

Airtel announced its VoWIFI services in these circles – Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Mumbai & Kolkata, on 20th December 2019.

Mobiles at the Time of Release of VoWIFI Service – Apple, OnePlus, Xiaomi, Samsung

Apple – iPhone XR, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, iPhone 8Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro.

OnePlus – OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7T Pro.

Xiaomi – Xiaomi Poco F1, Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro.

Samsung – Samsung J6, Sasmung On 6, Samsung M30S, Samsung M10S

Airtel Voice over WIFI – Currently running on Airtel Broadband

Airtel VoWIFI service is currently running over Airtel Broadband earlier known as Airtel V-Fiber, now known as Airtel X-Stream Fiber. Airtel X-Stream Fiber is the best way on through which Airtel VoWIFI works.

There’s has been some rumours that Airtel VoWIFI has been now working on other ISP’s also like Jio Fiber, BSNL/MTNL FTTH, ACT Fibernet, and many others.
